9. Astra Model 600 Pistol with German Acceptance Markings
serial #1168, 9mm, 5 1/4" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some minor freckling within the grooves. This pistol has a "PIST.PATR.08" marked breech with Waffenamt acceptance stamp on the right rear of the frame. The metal retains about 60-70% of the original blue which blends smoothly with an overall dark plum-brown patina on the balance. The knurled barrel collar has been cleaned to bright at some point, as have the trigger and safety, which nevertheless retain a few hints of their original straw color. The checkered walnut grips exhibit light surface wear throughout with even flattening of the points on both panels and a short with-the-grain crack at the butt on the right side. A single, extensively buffed original Astra marked magazine is included and the pistol is housed in an original unmarked military style black leather holster with cleaning rod and a legible name inked onto the interior under the cover flap: "W. KURTZ". The leather is old but intact with only some minor surface scuffs and no flaking. This is a very good-near fine German marked Astra overall.
