serial #240791, 20 ga. 2 3/4" on No. 0 frame, 26" Titanic steel barrels are choked improved cylinder and improved modified and have bright excellent bores. This shotgun is in a lovely configuration with splinter forend, straight grip, double triggers and skeleton buttplate. This shotgun was built in May of 1937 in Meriden, under Remington ownership, only a few months before operations were moved to Ilion. The barrel rib bears the standard Parker inscription and the action has the name "Parker" moved to the belly as is found on the Remington made guns. The action is engraved in very nicely executed scroll with pointing dogs in panels on either side and a covey of quail on belly. The barrels retain about 95% original blue finish overall. The action retains perhaps 15% original color case-hardened finish in protected areas with the balance bearing a wonderful smooth gray patina with crisp engraving. The checkered straight grip walnut buttstock and splinter forend are of nicely figured walnut and rate excellent with over 90% original finish remaining. The shotgun handles beautifully with a 14 1/2" pull to its steel skeleton buttplate and with drops of 1 1/2" and 2 1/2". The Parker serialization book lists this gun as having a capped pistol grip; it is clearly an original straight grip gun, there is either an error in the records or in the transcription of the records. This is a great little Parker that will perform well as an investment and in the field. (14778-6) {C&R} (7000/9000) SOLD FOR $
