serial #23148, 12ga., 30" barrels both choked full with excellent bores, the left tube showing an old professionally raised dent. The barrels retain excellent contrasting star damascus pattern their full-length. The frame retains about 90-92% original fading case colors with some sparse brown speckling, primarily on the belly of the frame. The lockplates show a similar amount of original vivid case colors and show excellent quality E-grade engraving. An interesting example, the engraving appears to be in between a D and E-grade gun, there also being a nice depiction of a dog on the bow of the triggerguard. The checkered capped pistol grip English walnut buttstock rates about excellent as professionally refinished, the splinter style forend is in a similar state of condition, perhaps showing a heavier coat of varnish. The butt has been nicely fitted with a 1/2" spacer and ventilated Hawkins recoil pad for a 14" length of pull with drops 1 3/4" and 3". Lockup is tight and gun seems to function well. A nice, very usable Lefever 12 bore ejector gun. (34290-13) {ANTIQUE} (2000/2500) SOLD FOR $1955.00
