7. U.S. Model 1861 Special Contract Rifle-Musket by Colt Firearms
.58 cal. percussion, 40" barrel with an excellent bore. Metal is a bright pewter patina, barrel and bands appear un-cleaned with original polish while lock and hammer may have been very lightly brightened many years ago. Stock rates about excellent showing some later, very minor added linseed oil finish with two excellent cartouches and minor dings and handling marks. Lock and breech are both dated 1863 with all metal parts showing tiny inspectors markings and barrel showing proper acceptance and firing proofs. (3393-6) {ANTIQUE} (2500/3500) |
