serial #222622, 16 ga., 28" barrels are choked modified and improved modified and have bright excellent bores. This shotgun has been meticulously upgraded a single grade to an "AHE". This is a particularly easy upgrade as both grades shared the same "Acme" steel barrels, both actions have a single raised rib around fences and the checkering patterns were essentially identical. It appears to us that the only modifications made to the shotgun were the addition of some light scroll engraving on the rounded portions on front belly of action and possibly a replaced triggerguard. Aside from the previously mentioned engraving the action features lovely original Parker “B” grade engraving depicting setters on point either side and a pair of flying ducks on the bottom. The triggerguard features typical engraving and has the initials "CB" inlaid on bow. The barrels retaining 98% superb quality restored blue finish and show a Remington repair code of "BE3". The lugs and extractor along with rib extension and face of breech end of barrels are all properly polished and the ejector stop on face of rib extension is properly fire blued. The only way to know that the color case-hardened finish on action is not original is by recognizing the very finely camouflaged added engraving. The watertable of action has had the coding above and below the serial number very neatly welded and restamped. The "BH" now reads "AH" and the "5" is now a "6". This is very neatly done and is only noticeable upon very careful inspection, under high magnification, a couple tiny pits can be seen near the "6" and the color case hardening has very, very slight color variation in those two small areas. This work was obviously performed by a highly accomplished gunsmith or shop. The checkered straight grip walnut buttstock and splinter forend appear to be the original Parker supplied stocks with strong checkering and rich color. The stocks have had some added finish and the skeleton buttplate is perfectly fitted and retains 95% lovely blued finish. The shotgun is very tight and points nicely with a 14 5/8" length of pull and with drops of 1 1/2" and 2 1/4". An extremely handsome high grade Parker double gun.
