serial #1979698, 30 Carbine, 18" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a "Model of 1943" carbine which has a correct Underwood 9-43 dated barrel, correct "L" type rear sight, unmarked but correct milled triggergroup housing, magazine release, sear, short barrel band, slide, flat-top bolt, and stock lug. The metal has 90-95% of the original parkerizing remaining which has some very mild silvering at the muzzle and some of the projecting edges and surfaces as well as patches of dried grease here and there on the reciever. The correct, two rivet handguard and high wood stock have their original oil finish remaining with a handful of minor handling marks scattered about, crisp ordnance wheel and "NPM/EJA" stamps on the right side of the butt, "TRIMBLE/TN" on the inside of the sling cut. No magazine, oiler, or sling is included but that would be easily rectified. This is a stellar, original N.P.M. carbine in excellent condition and would make a wonderful addition to any World War II collection. (3460-105) {C&R} [William F. Lett Collection] (1500/2000) SOLD FOR $2013.00
