serial #C21647, .50-70 CF, 22" lined three-grooved barrel with a bright excellent bore. Barrel is very nice retaining about 95% original blue, the loss due to some minor flaking to a pleasing plum brown patina with one or two spots of very minor oxidation or pinprick pitting. The frame, breech block, lockplate, lever and hammer retain about 95%-97% original case colors, muting slightly to a mottled gray case-hardened patina on the upper tang and high edges of the action. The lower tang is a mostly gray case-hardened patina. The walnut forend and buttstock rate excellent showing much original varnish and only minor handling marks with a crisp "DFC" ribbon cartouche from the time of the Sharps Armory conversion. Nearly all screws retain nice fire-temper blue. The band and buttplate both retain excellent case colors and the sling ring is intact on the bar. An excellent example of a three-groove metallic cartridge converted Sharps carbine. (3410-13) {ANTIQUE} (3500/4500) SOLD FOR $4600.00
