.58 Cal percussion, 40" barrel with a bright excellent bore. Metal surfaces are a bright pewter patina and appear to be original "Armory Bright" finish, which may have been "brightened" slightly with the aid of some light steel wool very many years ago, but also shows very minor oxidation patina. The lockplate and barrel breech are both dated 1859 with the barrel exhibiting correct firing proofs and acceptance stamps. Stock rates very good as professionally, very lightly cleaned showing a light cartouche as well as its original very minor dings and handling marks. The gun is racked numbered "50" to the rear of the tang. The lock is crisp and tape primer mechanism works properly. (3393-4){ANTIQUE} (1800/2200) SOLD FOR $3450.00
