31. U.S. Model 1841 "Mississippi" Percussion Rifle by Whitney
.54 cal. percussion, 33" barrel with a very good bore. Barrel and lockplate are an overall pewter gray patina with some very minor oxidation and some scattered very light pitting, the barrel showing proper inspector markings and proofs. Lockplate is maker marked and dated 1850. Stock rates very good with two good, but light cartouches and overall minor handling marks; there is a minor chip missing at right of tang to rear of breech.
