27. Custom Engraved Colt Single Action Army Revolver
serial #SA02058, 38 Colt, 5 1/2" barrel with a bright excellent bore. This handsome gun was nicely embellished with top-quality scroll, banknote filigree and geometric engraving with background punch-dot shading. The gun appears to have then been nicely nickel plated with a blue wash in the engraving which provides a lovely contrast. All of the screws and the trigger show beautiful pale fire-temper blue. The gun was fitted with a one-piece set of smooth rosewood grips which rate excellent. The gun appears un-fired since the work was done and shows perhaps a very minor handling mark or two but they are unobtrusive and one really must look for them. The gun comes in a nice glass-topped oak presentation case with green lining and two six-cartridge blocks in the interior. A very beautifully engraved Colt Single Action revolver in a scarce caliber. |
