26. Custom Engraved Colt Single Action Army Revolver

serial #SA50899, 38 Colt, 7 1/2" barrel with a bright excellent bore. This beautiful gun was nicely embellished with top-quality scroll, banknote filigree and geometric engraving with background punch-dot shading. The gun appears to have then been nicely nickel plated with a blue wash in the engraving which provides a lovely contrast. All of the screws and the trigger show beautiful pale fire-temper blue. The gun was fitted with a one-piece set of smooth rosewood grips which rate excellent. The gun appears un-fired since the work was done but it does have a very light cylinder turn ring and a very minor abrasion beneath the barrel near the muzzle. There are perhaps two or three more extremely minor handling marks on barrel or frame. The gun comes in a nice walnut presentation case with Burgundy-baize lining and Colt logo on lid. A very tastefully embellished Colt single action revolver in a scarce caliber. (3407-39) (2000/2500) SOLD FOR $2300.00
