199. Winchester Model 42 Takedown Slide Action Shotgun
serial #85056, 410 bore with a 3" chamber, 28" plain barrel with a full choke and a bright, excellent bore. The barrel retains 95% original blue finish while the magazine tube retains about 45% thinning original blue finish with the balance having a brownish gray patina. The receiver on this 1950 manufactured shotgun retains about 93% original blue finish. Many of the metal surfaces show traces of a cold blue finish added. The lightly sanded and refinished pistol grip walnut buttstock rates very good to near excellent with a somewhat reddish hue.
