179. Mauser Model 66S Sporting Rifle
serial #G26419, 30-06, 24" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This finely made rifle features the Walter Gehmann-designed telescoping bolt and has a removable rear sight (adjustable for windage and elevation) and features rosewood forend and pistol grip caps, skip-line checkering, and a Monte Carlo buttstock with an added black Uncle Mike's recoil pad. The metal has 97% plus of the original blue remaining that has silvered very slightly along some of the projecting edges and started to turn a dark purple color on the bolt handle. The stock is in excellent condition with scattered light surface scratches and blemishes, most noticeably around the heel of the butt and above the trigger on both sides.
