serial #3762, 53 caliber, 35" barrel with a bright bore that would rate excellent if not for the many spots of older rust and pitting. The metal surfaces exhibit a brownish gray patina with some specks of light pitting, scattered specks of surface rust, and traces of thinning original blue finish in protected areas. Oil finished walnut stock rates very good with multiple short cracks ahead of the buttplate and a number of scattered light dings. The letter "C" has been stamped multiple times on the comb of the buttstock as well as the heel extension of the buttplate. The ramrod resembles an original offering but is not the proper length.
