serial #63175, 44 CF, 7 1/2" barrel with a bright, near excellent bore having a few small spots of light pitting. This is a very fine 1881 manufactured revolver that is all matching with numbers on the barrel, frame, triggerguard, grip frame, and cylinder. The barrel and ejector rod housing have been lightly cleaned and exhibit a grayish gunmetal patina with a few scattered specks of light pin prick pitting and perhaps 25% original nickel finish remaining. The barrel address is thin where it was cleaned but still fully legible. The remaining metal surfaces retain about 96% original nickel finish with a few specks of similar pitting on the top strap and minimal blistering within the cylinder flutes. The trigger retains about 80% thinning original blue finish. The hammer retains about 80% original case-color that has mellowed about 50% in strength and is blending well with a pleasing brownish pewter gray patina. The one piece walnut grip is likewise numbered to the revolver and rates near excellent with honest wear and over 93% original varnish finish remaining. A narrow 1" sliver is missing on the left side of the grip along the bottom of the backstrap. A few of the screw heads show like slot wear. A very nice commercial Single Action Army that looks like it just waltzed in from the Western Frontier. Manufactured in 1881. (3474-194) {ANTIQUE} (4000/6000) SOLD FOR $4025.00
