serial #22704, 44 Special, 6 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This lanyard ring equipped revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, barrel, and extractor with the metal retaining 97-98% of the original blue finish that has silvered at the muzzle and along some of the exposed edges. There is a slight turn ring on the cylinder and a few very small handling marks visible along the barrel, edges of the topstrap, and a single small surface scratch on the right side of the frame running vertically through the "MADE IN U.S.A." marking. The hammer and trigger have 95% of the original color case-hardened finish that has faded slightly along the edges. The checkered, diamond-center grips are not numbered on the interior and have some minor handling marks around the butt slightly marring the original oil finish. The revolver is accompanied by a December 22, 2003 dated Smith & Wesson factory letter which lists a ship date of November 11, 1926 to Ellery Arms Co. of San Francisco, CA. This is an excellent 44 H.E. overall and would augment any Smith & Wesson collection. (3421-2) {C&R} (800/1200) SOLD FOR $1380.00
