serial #265647, 38 WCF, 24" barrel with an excellent bore. Barrel, magazine tube and nosecap retain about 98% original blue, the loss due to some minor handling marks and showing some very sparsely scattered very light oxidation. The frame retains a similar amount of original blue, also with minor oxidation and some light surface scratches and handling marks, primarily on the left side of the receiver. The lever and hammer retain excellent case colors which are muting slightly and toning to a mottled gray on the leading edge of the lever, the loading gate still shows excellent fire-temper blue. The smooth walnut stock and forend rate very near excellent with much original varnish and only minor handling marks from the years of use. The right side of the receiver is marked "Cola. S.C. P.D.", being rather neatly hand stamped, it would seem reasonable to assume that "Cola." is the abbreviation for Columbia, South Carolina. The original sights are in place. Overall a very nice model 1892 manufactured in 1904. (3474-45) {C&R} (2000/2500) SOLD FOR $2300.00
