serial #431196, 30 W.C.F., 26" nickel steel octagon barrel with a very good bore having some scattered pitting present. The barrel and full length magazine tube retain 96-97% strong original blue finish with the balance as scattered specks of light pitting confined mostly to the right side of the barrel. The receiver on this 1908 manufactured rifle retains 95% strong original blue finish with similar specks of light pitting. The takedown collar and forend cap have more of a brown patina with good traces of original blue remaining. The hammer and lever retain 50-60% strong original case-color mellowing slightly. The crescent buttplate retains 95% strong original case-color. The straight grip fancy walnut buttstock and forend rates excellent with an added coat of linseed oil. This rifle is equipped with a German silver blade front sight, express style rear sight, and a Lyman No. 2A folding tang peep sight. A very fine rifle that unfortunately came in contact with something detrimental to the metal. (3314-33) {C&R} (1500/2000) SOLD FOR $1495.00
