serial #64543, 32 RF long, 6" ribbed octagon barrel with a very good bore showing sharp rifling but also minor pitting its full length. Frame and barrel retain about 70% original bright Smith & Wesson blue, the loss due primarily to even flaking on the barrel and wear on butt and backstrap with fading to a gray brown patina at left side of frame where one's thumb would rest. The cylinder is an overall deep gray and brown patina with some areas of very light pitting; there is a corresponding area on the left side of the barrel which also shows a small amount of minor pitting. The hammer still retains lovely case colors, the trigger and ejector spud now mostly a deep pewter and brown patina. The gun wears a wonderful pair of smooth ivory grips which fit precisely and while un-numbered appear original to the gun. All assemby numbers (112) match. The barrel to frame lockup is excellent and the gun times well and locks up tightly. Really a very nice model number two with a very fine overall appearance which would look lovely cased.
