serial #12314, 44 RF, 24" octagon barrel with a very good bright bore that shows just a little light pitting. This is a nice example of the late-model Henry rifle. The barrel bears a lovely, brown patina that is generally quite smooth with a few scattered areas of light surface pitting present. All barrel markings remain clear and legible. The brass frame shows strong edges and bears a pleasing light mustard colored patina. The action may have been very lightly cleaned, if so it was done many years ago as its appearance is very pleasing. The bottom of the cartridge lifter shows two deep pits which may be casting flaws. The walnut buttstock rates excellent having been lightly refinished many years ago and retains a nice rich color. The late style brass buttplate bears the same patina as the action and correct four piece iron cleaning rod with brass tip is present in the butt trap. Original sling swivel is present on left side of butt along with corresponding catch on left side of barrel. Original German silver front sight is present along with the original ladder rear sight. Overall a very nice Henry rifle with excellent investment potential. (3119) {ANTIQUE} (18,000/22,000) SOLD FOR $23,000.00
