serial #9730, 270 Win, 21 1/2" lightweight tapered sporting barrel with a bright excellent bore. This is an absolutely lovely rifle built on the desirable German G33/40 action. Metal surfaces retain about 99% lovely satin blue. Custom metalwork includes professionally drilled and tapped receiver bridges, sporting bolt handle with dual checkered panels, Winchester model 70 style safety, checkered boltstop and Blackburne style hinged floorplate. The gun is beautifully stocked in a very nice piece of English walnut in the classic style showing a flared shadowline cheekpiece. Pistolgrip and forend are flawlessly checkered in wraparound riband, modified fleur-di-lis patterns, the stock itself rates excellent showing only minor dings and handling marks from very light use. The gun is equipped with an adjustable commercial style trigger, Q.D. swivel studs, a blued steel pistolgrip cap and hinged checkered Niedner style buttplate. Additionally the bolt body has been jeweled, the raceways honed and the feed ramp polished. This lovely rifle is completely unmarked. The receiver wears two piece steel Conetrol bases with 1" Conetrol rings. Sans the scope the rifle weighs just barely 7 pounds. A super lightweight rifle with a thin wrist and trim forearm. Length of pull is 13 1/2". The gun rides in a nice green canvas and black leather bound hardcase which is lockable, the key is included. The lid of the case features a Winchester appliqué which could be changed by a resourceful individual. There is the tiniest beginning of a crack at the rear of the tang, it could easily be rectified by proper relief of the inletting. (3086-11) (2500/3500)
