serial #4307, 8.15 x 46R, 32" octagon barrel has a bright excellent bore with matted top flat and integral sight rail near breech. Top of action is marked with the "BA" monogram indicating that this rifle was built by Bruno Anschutz. Bottom of barrel is date coded "2.25" and also bears the initials "BA" above serial number. The left side of breech block is marked "ORIGINAL / SYST-AYDT" and rifle is equipped with quick detachable trigger group. The condition of this rifle is very nice with its barrel retaining 95% evenly thinning original blue finish. The action retains about 95% original color case-hardened finish which is quite vivid on left side but does show some softening on the right side. The checkered walnut buttstock with large scooped cheek piece and thumb rest rates excellent with some light decorative carving on right side. The forend is a typical style and both buttstock and forend retain 95% of their original finish and show just a few light handling marks. The post and bead front sight is present between its protective fins and the original, fully adjustable tang mounted peep sight is also present. Overall a very fine example of an unembellished AYDT Schuetzen rifle. (3009-1) {C&R} (2000/3000)
