Remington Model 1871 Smoothbore Rolling Block Pistol

serial #1517, 50 cf, 8 inch round barrel with a bright minty bore. This is a very fine example of the smoothbore rolling block pistol. Left side of frame bears inspectors initials "P" & "S" and left side of grip bears a very crisp "CRS" cartouche. The barrel retains 85% evenly thinning original blue finish. The frame retains about 95% strong original color case-hardened finish. The hammer and breech block are finished bright and remain shiny. Fire blue on trigger is virtually 95% intact.
