.54 caliber, 8 1/2" barrel with a bright excellent bore. This is a superb example of the 1836 pistol in original flintlock. The lock bears proper markings and dated 1842, the barrel bears proper inspectors marks. The barrel and iron furniture bear a pleasing silver gray color which is quite smooth with just a little light pitting evident on buttcap. The lock retains 95% strong original case-hardened finish. The barrel tang retains most of its color case-hardened finish. The walnut stock rates excellent with crisp edges two sharp cartouches and just a couple small grain separations on left side. A wonderful 1836 Johnson. (2399-1) {ANTIQUE} (3000/4000)
