Fine Silver Mounted Queen Anne Flintlock Pistol

.56 caliber, 6 1/2" iron cannon barrel. This is a really lovely Queen Anne pistol. The turn off cannon barrel features several nicely turned rings and has nice engraving at breech. The barrel tang and triggerguard are also engraved. The pistol is maker marked "Wilson" on underside and beneath the beautifully sculpted frizzen spring. The walnut stock is adorned with fabulous silver furniture consisting of a panoply of arms on left side, a fancy shield escutcheon with another stand of arms which is engraved "W. / Haggatt / Esqr" and a fabulous grotesque mask on butt. The condition of the pistol is excellent with iron surfaces bearing a smooth silver gray color having been very lightly and carefully cleaned. The cock shows a very well-done old repair that is well hidden. The stock has a wonderful carved shell motif to rear of tang and rates excellent with 95% original finish remaining.
