serial #19, 41 RF, 2 1/2" barrel with a very good bore. This deringer features lovely floral scroll engraving with two very interesting panel scenes. The scenes include a nice depiction of the Civil War ironclad USS Monitor on left side of frame next to hammer and on top of frame ahead hammer is a depiction of a siege mortar. Top of barrel is marked "D. MOORE PATENT FEB. 24 1863". The barrel retains an even gray-brown patina with some scattered patches of very light surface oxidation present, the brass frame retains nearly 70% original silver plated finish with the areas of loss retaining a pleasing untouched mustard colored patina. The split spur hammer is missing its left spur. A handsome and very neat Moore deringer. (2515-1) {ANTIQUE} (2500/3500)
