serial #21319, 12 ga., 30" factory vent rib barrels choked improved modified and full with bores that are mostly bright but do show some fine salt-and-pepper pitting in areas ahead of chambers. The finish on the shotgun has been completely and very nicely restored. The barrels retain 98% excellent quality blue finish with some remnants of light pitting mostly on tubes and found in areas nearest ribs. The action retains 99% of beautiful quality finish, which has proper color and a very pleasing appearance. The checkered pistol grip walnut buttstock and beavertail forearm show lovely figure and rate excellent having been nicely refinished and with one small chip from lower left side of stock at action. Shotgun features ejectors, single selective trigger and non-automatic safety. The accompanying record sheet from Cody shows the shotgun shipping on June 7, 1948 to Bluefield Hardware Company. The records confirm the configuration and list the shotgun as a Trap grade although it is not marked "Trap" on bottom of action. The record lists a 14 3/8" length of pull with a Winchester recoil pad, the shotgun has had some spacers added but the wood is unaltered and with spacers removed the original pad (which remains in place) would bring the length of pull to 14 3/8". Currently the length of pull is just shy of 15" and drops measure 1 1/2" and 2" (each 1/8" greater than the record indicates). Shotgun remains quite tight, points nicely and has lots of life left in it. (2141-1) {C&R} (4000/6000) SOLD FOR $4887.50
