serial #c5652, 12 ga., 28 7/8" damascus barrels show bright excellent bores and are choked cylinder and improved modified. The action of the shotgun features tasteful scroll engraving in about 30% coverage. The barrels retain about 80% evenly thinning brown finish and show 75% original damascus pattern. Each side of frame is engraved "WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO." and top of rib is engraved "WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO. LONDON". The action retains about 60% original color casehardened finish which has faded to a mellow gray color with some faint swirls of color mixed with the smooth even gray patina. The checkered round knob pistol grip buttstock and splinter forend are of relatively plain walnut and rate excellent with most of their original finish remaining and with relatively strong checkering. The side panels of stock show a square escutcheon either side with a machine screw passing through laterally which fits very nicely. Shotgun features a horn forend tip and a checkered horn buttplate with a 14" length of pull and drops of 1 3/4" and 2 5/8". Shotgun is a tiny bit loose and rearmost top edges of forearm appear to been slightly reshaped. (2191-4) {ANTIQUE} (1000/2000) SOLD FOR $1150.00
