serial #119356, 45-70, 22" round barrel with full magazine and a very good bore that shows a little light pitting. The barrel and magazine retain about 50% original blue finish, which is thinning evenly and blending with a pleasing smooth brown patina. The action retains about 40% original color casehardened finish which is mostly faded to a silvery, color but does show some contrast in protected areas. The balance of the action has acquired a pleasing gray patina and is blending nicely with the remaining finish. The plain walnut stocks rate very good plus with a little light oil added and some scattered light marks, however they are pleasing in appearance and have not been sanded. A nice honest example of the scarce and desirable 1886 carbine manufactured in 1899. (2196-1) {C&R} (5000/7000) SOLD FOR $8050.00
