serial #2878, 223 Rem, 21 1/2" barrel with an excellent bore. Metal surfaces retain 99% plus original blue, bolt body and handle are polished bright. This fine rifle is nearly full-length stocked in stunning exhibition grade shellflame curly maple with a nicely contrasting Schnable style forend tip of Zebra Wood. The stock is high-gloss finished and is flawlessly checkered with a borderless pattern; the forend pattern being wrap-around with adjoining panels at the pistol grip. Stock is classic style and is patterned after the "Special African" model original Mauser magazine sporting rifles. It features a rounded cheek piece with a lovely shadowline, flawlessly inletted Talley-style Q.D. swivel studs, fully checkered Niedner crescent style buttplate and is accented with a lovely blued steel skeleton grip cap with checkered center. Overall condition is excellent to very nearly as-new with perhaps one or two tiny dings present. The workmanship is truly second to none and is indeed flawless. The gun comes with a set of factory 1" scope rings, the barrel has been Mag-na-ported.
