serial #132-66351, 7MM-300 Weatherby, 27 3/4" Douglas premium barrel with an excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain 99% plus top quality high polish blue. This absolutely stunning rifle has been masterfully stocked in a superb grain of Circassian walnut and has been custom engraved by none other than master firearms engraver Ken Hurst. The action, quarter rib, barrel, lever and scope rings show lovely scroll with the action panels showing absolutely flawless depictions of two big horn sheep on the left and a bugling elk on the right side. The breech section of the barrel shows dual inlaid gold bands, as does the threaded muzzle protector, which covers the muzzlebrake threads; the muzzle protector actually being finished in a French gray. The action panels also feature flawless inlaid gold borders; in addition to his superb engraving Hurst is known for his ability to inlay gold wire flawlessly. The stock work is as lovely as the metalwork, and as mentioned is a superb grade of Circassian walnut. The buttstock is a scant Monte Carlo style with a square, flared German style cheek piece with dual accent lines. The forend very closely matches Ruger's factory pattern and is slightly longer so as to be in proportion with the longer barrel. The stocks are finished in a lovely hand rubbed satin and are accented by flawless checkered panels with carved ribands and bordered by light scroll. Talley-style sling swivel studs are neatly inletted and the gripcap is a blued skeleton offering with perfectly checkered-center . The gun wears a 1/2" black Pachmayr rifle pad; length of pull to the Canjar single set trigger is 13 5/8". The custom made quarter rib supports Warne quick detachable dual-lever rings and the safety is a custom-made fully checkered wide mushroom head offering. The "S" safety indicator is inlaid in gold. The "set" feature of the Canjar trigger is in need of very minor adjustment as it does not currently hold "on set". There is one perceivable scratch on the barrel and a few very very minor handling marks on the wood but condition overall is excellent. Overall this is an absolutely flawless gun in an extremely fine long-range caliber, the workmanship rivaling any custom maker alive today. (2152-20) (4000/6000)
