Winchester Model 1885 High Wall Thickside Sporting Rifle

serial #11454, 45 EX, 32" No. 3 weight octagon barrel with a bright minty bore. In addition to its somewhat unusual caliber, this rifle features a special order length barrel. The barrel retains about 90% evenly thinning original blue finish. The action retains about 90% original color casehardened finish which has softened but still shows good color overall. The plain walnut buttstock and forend rate very good plus as nicely refinished. The left side of forend has a small crack at action that seems mostly cosmetic. Rifle is equipped with a high-quality modern windgauge adjustable front sight with spirit level, buckhorn sporting rear and a nice quality modern vernier midrange tang peep sight. Factory records confirm the configuration of this rifle and show a ship date of June 27, 1887. Overall a very nice thick side high wall.
