serial #81694, 405 WCF, 24" round barrel with a bright excellent bore. This is a very fine, high condition 1895 rifle. The barrel retains 97% strong original blue finish. The action retains about 95% bright original blue with loss being due to some small areas of flaking on right side of action where metal has turned to a pleasing smooth brown patina. The plain walnut stocks rate excellent with virtually all of their original finish remaining and with just a couple scattered handling marks. There may have been some very light finish added but stocks have a lovely appearance and this is a very minor issue. The rifle buttplate retains 70% original blue finish and rifle is equipped with correct Lyman 21 receiver sight in addition to standard barrel sights. A very fine, big bore takedown 1895 rifle.
