Fine Winchester Model 1876 Third Model Rifle in .40-60

serial #56010, 40-60, 28" octagon barrel with full magazine and a very good bore that shows a little light pitting. This is a very nice and completely honest 1876 rifle. The barrel and magazine retain 90 - 95% strong original blue finish with most loss due to thinning just ahead of action. The action and sideplates retain about 80 - 85% thinning original blue finish blending with a pleasing smooth gray-brown patina. Case color on hammer remains quite strong; slightly more subdued on lever. Fire blue on loading gate remains strong and standard open sporting sights are in place. The plain walnut stocks rate excellent with 90% original finish remaining. A very handsome collector grade '76 rifle. (1998-10) {ANTIQUE} (6000/8000) SOLD FOR $8625.00
