serial #33626, 12 bore, 28" barrels with mirror bores have an inside diameter .729" with choke constrictions of .010" and .021". Barrels are proofed for 1 1/4 ounce with original 2 3/4" chambers. This 1946 production shotgun remains in spectacular, near new condition. The shotgun features detachable sidelocks, cocking indicators, articulated front trigger, ejectors, assisted opening and a rolled triggerguard. The action and locks feature lovely full coverage relief floral scroll engraving with "HOLLAND & HOLLAND" on each lock. The barrels are marked "HOLLAND & HOLLAND" on right tube and "98 NEW BOND STREET LONDON" on left with "Royal" engraved on top of rib. The barrels retain 98% plus original blue finish. The action and locks retain 99% original color case hardened finish which remains strong and vivid. The top lever and triggerguard retain 99% bright original blue. Fire blue on lock pins, screws, safety switch and lock retaining pin remains bright and vivid. The checkered straight grip buttstock and splinter forend are of beautifully figured English walnut and rate excellent plus with virtually all of their hand rubbed oil finish remaining and with crisp, sharp checkering. Shotgun weighs 6 lbs. 13 oz. and has a 15 1/4" length of pull with drops of 1 1/2" and 2 1/4". Shotgun wears a thin solid red rubber pad which appears original. Current replacement cost of the shotgun is in excess of $96,000. An excellent opportunity to acquire an essentially as new Holland at a fraction of its replacement cost.
