Stevens Model 52 Schuetzen Jr. Rifle on 44 1/2 Action

serial #10477, 32-40, 30" part round part octagon barrel with a bright excellent bore. This rifle is in lovely condition. The action features tasteful light scroll engraving along with double set triggers and full loop lever. The barrel has been equipped with scope blocks which hold a Lyman Super Targetspot 15 power scope on adjustable mounts. Rifle is also sighted with a windgauge front sight with spirit level, no rear seat and a Stevens midrange windage adjustable vernier tang peep sight. The barrel retains 95% strong original blue finish. The action retains about 95% original color casehardened finish which remains quite vivid. The lever has turned mostly gray but is smooth and pleasing in appearance. The checkered pistol grip buttstock with cheekpiece and schnabel tipped forend are of beautifully figured walnut and rate excellent with 95% original finish remaining and with sharp, crisp checkering. The original Schuetzen buttplate is mostly a smooth brown patina but shows generous traces of original blue finish. The belly of the forend has two holes drilled for palm rest base which is no longer present. Overall a very fine, high condition Stevens target rifle.
