Wonderful Stevens-Pope Model 52 Schuetzen Jr. Two Barrel
Set Rifle on 44 1/2 Action

serial #8175, 30" No. 4 weight Stevens Pope octagon barrel in .32-40 with a bright excellent bore and bearing Stevens Pope #1235. The second barrel is a 27" part round part octagon No. 1 weight barrel in .22 lr and bears Stevens Pope #1780. The .32-40 barrel has no sights and is fitted with original scope blocks, the .22 barrel is fitted with identical scope blocks in addition to a Beach combination front sight and the rifle is equipped with a windage adjustable Stevens midrange vernier tang peep sight. Both forends are beautifully checkered original Stevens products and both numbered to the rifle. The action is factory engraved and shows somewhat typical border engraving with unusual floral pattern at center of either side. The condition of his rifle is lovely with both barrels retaining 97% original blue finish. The action retains 95% strong original case color. The highly figured checkered pistol grip walnut buttstock with cheekpiece and both schnabel tipped forends rate excellent plus with over 95% original finish remaining and with strong sharp checkering. Rifle is equipped with original palm rest, adjustable double set triggers, full loop lever and a custom aluminum buttplate with bottom hook only which was installed without altering the buttstock. Original false muzzle is included along with brass piston bullet starter, bullet mold, bullet lubricating pump, re-de-capper, breech seating tool and a small brown booklet. Notes in the booklet list a previous owner of this rifle as Lyle Corcoran. This is a wonderful, high condition Stevens Pope two barrel set that would be right at home in the finest collection of Stevens rifles.
