serial #1237, .32-40, 30" octagon barrel bearing Pope #683 and having a very good bore that shows a little light pitting. This is a very nice and completely honest Stevens-Pope rifle. The action features nice factory scroll engraving. The barrel with no rear seat is fitted with scope blocks which hold a proper, period Stevens scope. The barrel retains about 60% thinning original blue finish which is blending with a smooth brown patina. The action is a smooth German silver color, the result of faded case color. The checkered pistol grip walnut buttstock with cheekpiece and schnabel tipped forend rate excellent with over 90% original finish remaining and with strong finely cut checkering. Rifle is sighted with a globe front target sight, no rear seat and adjustable tang peep sight. Rifle features double set triggers, full loop lever and iron Schuetzen buttplate. Included with the rifle are the original false muzzle which is numbered to the barrel and a brass piston bullet starter. A nice honest Stevens-Pope Schuetzen Junior.
