Colt 1877 Lightning Double Action Revolver

serial #12502, 38 colt, 4 1/2" barrel with an excellent bore showing perhaps a very minor pit or two toward the throat. This nice etched panel revolver retains about 96% original nickel, the spots of loss being worn bright and blending nicely with the original finish. This example does not feature an ejector rod housing, base pin retains good blue, trigger and hammer spine retain nice fire temper as do most of the screws. The checkered hard rubber Rampant Colt grips rate excellent. Gun times perfectly and locks up tight. There is some very minor oxidation freckling , mostly confined to the cylinder. A very nice looking antique Lightning in a scarce barrel length, manufactured second year of production in 1878. (1996-25) {ANTIQUE} (2000/3000)
