Luftwaffe Model 1942 Single Decal Helmet

This helmet retains 85-90% of the original, flacked, blue-gray Luftwaffe painted finish with a 2nd Pattern eagle decal on the crown on the left side underneath the ventilation grommet. There are small surface scuffs scattered about the helmet exterior and chipped areas on top of the crown which have exposed some of the plum-brown underlying metal. There are some further smaller chips on the underside of the neck flare. The decal has some gradual wear on the central portion of the eagle and at the tip of the right wing. Some of the surrounding old scuffs do carry over onto the decal. The leather suspension web is slightly dried but intact with the original zinc liner band and crazed but still flexible original chinstrap. This is a great original Luftwaffe helmet in fine overall condition. (2005-1) (500/700) SOLD FOR $862.50
