serial #337, 54 caliber percussion, 18" barrel with a bright minty bore. This is a very nice example of this interesting carbine. The barrel retains about 40% thinning original blue finish blending with an even brown patina and with some scattered specks of pitting. The frame and barrel collar retain about 65% strong original blue finish with spots of light to moderate pitting and the balance being a gray brown patina. The hammer and lock retain about 65% original case colors which have softened some but are still quite strong in protected areas. The remaining metal surfaces are mostly a pleasing grayish brown patina while still retaining some original blue finish. All of the markings remain crisp and clear including the opposing broad arrows with the letter "S" on the left side of the barrel. The walnut buttstock rates very good to near excellent with dings and handling marks. The right side of the buttstock is stamped "1 / D / 30 / RDMR" ahead of the patchbox. Included with this carbine is the original instruction sheet. A completely honest Greene carbine in fine condition. (2092-4) {ANTIQUE} (2750/3500) SOLD FOR $2875.00
