Marlin Ballard-Schoyen Rifle on 6 1/2 Rifle Action

serial #17262, .32-40, 27 7/8" octagon barrel with a bright excellent bore. Top of barrel is marked "GEO. C. SCHOYEN DENVER, COLO." and is fitted with scope blocks, one additional set of holes neatly filled with filler screws and a period windgauge front sight. The action features lovely relief floral scroll factory engraving with bear in panel left and running buck in panel right. The rifle is equipped with double set adjustable triggers, full loop lever and midrange vernier tang peep sight. The barrel retains 90% original brown finish. The action retains 70% original case color which has faded to a smoky smooth German silver color. The checkered pistol grip walnut buttstock features a nice cheekpiece, small Swiss buttplate, has very nice figure and retains over 90% original finish. The checkered forend has a horn tip and rates very good with a good deal of original finish remaining. Rifle is equipped with a Lyman Super Targetspot 15 power scope and comes complete with its original false muzzle and aluminum piston bullet starter.
