This a small canteen which measures 6 3/4" in diameter and 3" deep with 95% plus of the original blue milk paint finish, which has turned a dark blue-green over time, remaining on the wood. There is some light flaking to the paint, mostly along the edging staves at the mouth, and one of the three original leather strip cord stays remains. One side of the canteen has the name "G.Flint." carefully painted in white while the opposite side has "2d. REG./1st BRIGADE./3d.DIVISION." by the same hand. This is a fine little canteen overall and could benefit from further research. (2017-5) (400/600) SOLD FOR $862.50
