serial #4106, .32-40, 28" part round part octagon barrel originally in .22 caliber but rebored and rifled by George Schoyen. While the barrel is not marked Schoyen, it features his distinctive seven groove rifling and is fitted with his uniquely knurled false muzzle in addition to a Schoyen palm rest. The barrel retains about 50% thinning original Schoyen brown finish and has a bright excellent bore. The action which features lovely loose factory scroll engraving retains 75% original color casehardened finish which has faded over time and shows subtle colors against a smooth German silver colored background. The checkered pistol grip walnut buttstock and forend feature cheekpiece and fancy checkering patterns. The condition of the stocks is excellent with over 90% original finish remaining, forend checkering ahead of palm rest base is somewhat worn. Rifle features a windgauge front sight with spirit level, no rear seat, windage adjustable Lyman folding tang peep sight, double set adjustable triggers, full loop lever, iron Schuetzen buttplate and aluminum piston bullet starter. The rifle is fitted with a Lyman Super Targetspot 15 power scope mounted on blocks. The lever is slightly loose which could be easily corrected. Overall a quite lovely and fine Stevens-Schoyen rifle.
