serial #385508, 45-70, 29 1/2" barrel with an excellent bore. The barrel retains 70-80% original blue finish, the "U.S./ MODEL/ 1884" breech block and barrel tang show about 65% original case colors. A correct Buffington rear sight is installed, the two-piece carbine triggerguard indicates manufacture in 1888. The long wrist walnut stock is in very good condition with a small number of light handling marks visible. The buttplate is marked "U.S." on the upper extension, a small "P" is stamped rearward of the triggerguard. Comes with a bayonet modified to cadet length.
