serial #307142, 32 W.C.F., 25" shortened part round part octagon barrel with a good but pitted bore. The factory records indicate that this 1906 manufactured rifle was originally equipped with a 30" barrel, half length magazine tube, set trigger, and plain pistol grip stock. The barrel and receiver retain about 90% evenly thinning non-original blue finish that is turning a dark brown color with a few light dings and specks of light pitting. The forend cap, hammer, lever, and crescent buttplate show signs of being color case hardened with a torch. The capped pistol grip walnut buttstock and forend have been professionally checkered in the factory H style and rate very good to near excellent with light handling marks and a very small chip missing from the toe of the buttstock. The stocks have been lightly sanded and nicely refinished. The bottom flat of the barrel's octagon portion has been hand stamped "M.L.T." just ahead of the forend cap. A faint dovetail notch is located 1" ahead of the rear sight and has been professionally filled prior to bluing. This rifle is equipped with standard sights, a Lyman No. 1A tang peep sight, and a close coupled double set trigger. (2011-45) {C&R} [Dom Morin Collection] (1200/1600) SOLD FOR $2530.00
