serial #64029, 40-82 W.C.F., 23" period shortened octagon barrel with a good but evenly pitted bore. The barrel and full length magazine tube retain a grayish brown mix with a few scattered specks of oxidation and traces of original blue finish in protected areas. The breechblock retains 90% thinning original blue finish. The remaining metal surfaces on this 1892 manufactured rifle show a dark gray patina with similar specks of oxidation and traces of original color case hardening that appear as a pewter gray color. The oil finished straight grip walnut buttstock and forend rate very good with a small chip missing to the left of the tang below the hammer. An extra hole has been added to the tang and is hidden by a modern Lyman peep sight. (2011-26) {ANTIQUE} [Dom Morin Collection] (1200/1600) SOLD FOR $1840.00
