serial #849222, 44 W.C.F., 20" barrel with a very good bore having a few specks of pitting. The barrel and two thirds length magazine tube retain about 85% evenly thinning original blue finish blending with a brown patina. The receiver on this 1917 manufactured carbine retains about 80% thinning original blue finish with a few specks of oxidation, the balance bearing a grayish gunmetal color. The straight grip walnut buttstock with hard rubber buttplate rates very good with light handling marks. The nicely refinished walnut forend rates very good to near excellent.
