serial #457, 32 Rimfire, 3 1/2" barrels with near excellent bores having a few small spots of pitting. This pistol is the earliest of the four major types having the circular sideplate. The metal surfaces retain 90% thinning original blue finish with just a few specks of rust and the balance bearing a pleasing brownish gray patina. The hammer retains most of its strong original case colors and shows a short crack at the spur. The checkered gutta percha grips are numbered to the gun and rate excellent. The consignor states that he remembers this pistol in his father's bureau drawer back in the 1950s. The barrel release button has been replaced with a modern screw. The original part must have been broken or had gotten lost and is very likely the reason why this pistol has seen so little use and is in such nice condition.
