serial #153120, 33 W.C.F., 24" nickel steel round barrel with a near excellent bore. The barrel and magazine tube retain 75% thinning original blue finish with the balance bearing a dark grayish brown color. The remaining metal surfaces on this 1914 manufactured rifle have been lightly cleaned and bear a soft gray gunmetal color with about 10% thinning original blue finish remaining. The sanded and refinished straight grip walnut buttstock rates about very good with a small repair to the toe, a filled hole along the toe line (sling swivel stud), and partially filled sections around the upper tang. A small wedge chipped away from that section leaving the metal quite proud. The walnut forend has an added coat of varnish and rates very good with a short crack on the upper left side. The front sight blade is a high visibility replacement and the carbine style rear sight is for a Model 92 or 94. This rear sight has been refinished and is missing its movable crossbar. (2011-17) {C&R} [Dom Morin Collection] (1000/1400) SOLD FOR $1495.00
